About Matt

Matthew Short was born in Seattle, Washington, and spent most of his childhood there. He began his career at Robbins TBM, where he spent significant time in Hiroshima, Japan, as a field engineer on a damaged TBM. After returning to Seattle, Matthew joined Kelley Engineered Equipment as a Design Engineer and later became a Project Engineer after successfully designing and delivering several pipe carriers and pipe installation machines. He maintains constant communication with Project Managers, clients, shops, and his engineering team to ensure Kelley provides the highest level of service for all projects and customers.

With a deep understanding of the challenges of the tunneling industry, Matthew is committed to making Kelley Supply a top contender in the custom railcar industry for the benefit of both the company and its clients.

What hobbies do you have in your free time?

In my free time, I spend quality moments with my family, or enjoy playing soccer with friends. I'm eager to become an avid back-country skier and like to run or go for bike rides. I'm always making time to be outdoors, but equally enjoy staying in to watch a documentary or build a Lego set.
